Since the early twentieth century, the main activity of the Cottini Family was based on the sale of firewood, raised in the owned woods. It was from the 60's that Flavio's father, Giuseppe, decided to buy the vines and thus begin to produce small quantities of wine. So the Company Giuseppe Cottini started, where also the son Flavio began to work. With time, thanks to the purchase of new plots and the increase of the planted area, the quantity and quality of the produced wine increased and were refined. In 1990 Giuseppe retired and his place was covered by his son Flavio. This created the modern farm Flavio Cottini, in which even the new generation - the grandchildren of grandpa Bepi – has already begun to work with enthusiasm and passion, making improvements and bringing new ideas. Starting from Fumane, a popular area of the Classic Valpolicella, the lands of the farm "Flavio Cottini" run along the plain and the surrounding green hills to the nearby Mazzurega, in Tenuta "Campiano", for a total of 15 hectares of vines, planted with typical Veronese bower system, and 1 hectare olive grove, for the production of extra virgin olive oil. The grapes we grow are the traditional Valpolicella, suitable for the production of the prestigious Amarone: Rondinella, Corvina and Corvinone.
